Tips for surviving redundancy
-
Once you have got through the initial shock of your job loss, try to focus on planning for the future, however angry you may feel
-
Try to see the positive side - redundancy can force you to try a new career direction, obtain new skills or start your own business
-
If you are worried about your chances of finding another job, seek expert help to enable you to regain your self esteem and identify your strengths
-
Consider taking extra qualifications or training to boost your CV - even if you are looking in the same line of work
-
If you can't find another job straight way, use the time to take a course or do some voluntary work - it will help you meet new people, stay motivated and demonstrate your initiative to a future employer.
